I have addressed this argument in previous columns...of course black folks are more at risk from other black folks than from whites. And whites are more at risk from other whites than from blacks, because crime is mostly between people who live around and come in contact with each other...and Americans are more at risk from other americans than from ISIS...so what? Multiple isues can be worth addressing at once. Even under the period of enslavement and Jim Crow there was more "black on black" crime...does that mean those persons seeking to abolish slavery or segregation were wasting their time, or missing the "real issue?" Of course not...
