Now that suspected mail bomber, would-be political assassin and Trump supporter Cesar Sayoc is in custody, charged with mailing over a dozen bombs to Democratic political figures as well as George Soros and Robert De Niro, the right is in full-fledged spin mode.

For several days conservative commentators suggested or even outright insisted that the bombs were likely hoaxes sent by liberals or antifa so as to discredit the right in time for the mid-terms.
